Abstract Background

Dothan Behavioral Health

Dan M. Kinjorski has a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Master of Divinity, and is a Ph.D. student in Counseling: Teaching and Supervision. As well, Dan is a retired U.S. Army Chaplain and has facilitated and co-facilitated marriage enrichment and single soldier enrichment seminars during his chaplaincy career.

Under qualified clinical supervision by Dr. Luke Queen, JD, DMin, a Licensed Professional Counselor Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP), State Approved Supervisor, and CCE Board Certified ACS Approved Clinical Supervisor, Dan provides psychotherapy services through Dothan Behavioral Health online and in-person to individuals, groups, children & youth, elderly, and families.

Dan is also a Army veteran who served in the enlisted ranks and retired as a Chaplain in the U.S. military. His undergraduate studies were in Biblical Studies and pastoral ministry, and my graduate studies were in the integration of theology and practice of ministry (M.Div.), allowing him to be a Chaplain. As a therapist, he helps individuals and couples find their way in life. He knows from experience what it is like to feel lost and have no direction; to have lost the “waypoints” to live a purpose-filled life, and to know what it is like to wish you and your loved one could thrive in marriage. As such, Dan comes from a place of no judgment and provides a safe space.

Dan advocates that it is essential that you can realize and function in the strengths you already have but may not be aware of. In counseling sessions, he explores the client's needs, challenges, and strengths. The goal is to self-actualize, realize your full potential, and conquer your challenges from your strengths and resources.

When not working with clients or completing course work, Dan enjoys reading, playing games, and spending time with his wife. He loves spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow.
