Dr. Milton Gordon has a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry, a Doctor of Ministry in ministry with counseling emphasis, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  Dr. Gordon has served as a counselor in various agencies in the past 35 years, including Volunteer Behavioral Health, Christian Psychological and Family Services, Vocational Rehabilitation Services in Tennessee, TAFT Youth Development Center for incarcerated youth in Tennessee, Mirror Lake Alcohol and Drug Residential Center, and Youth Villages.  Dr. Gordon has counseled with two of these agencies (adult and adolescent) as a Crisis Intervention Specialist assessing and consulting with medical staff on the care and aftercare of suicidal/homicidal patients.

 

Dr. Gordon has wide and long-range experience counseling in church settings with individuals, couples and families.  Dr. Gordon has counseled in church settings receiving referrals from pastors for individual, couple, pre-marriage and marriage counseling.  Dr. Gordon has experience counseling clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, suicidal tendencies, family conflict, domestic violence and adolescent dysregulated and/or aberrant behavior.  Dr. Gordon is an ordained minister.

 

More recently (2021) Dr. Gordon has counseled individual clients and groups in an alcohol and drug residential center with detox and housing units and (fall 2021 to present) counseled youth and families in the intercept in-home program for at risk youth dealing with physical and verbal aggression, bullying, academic performance, family conflict, parent education and psychoeducation, suicidal behavior, drugs and non-suicidal self-harm behaviors. Dr. Gordon has traveled and ministered in Uganda and Ecuador as well as many states in the United States.  Dr. Gordon brings multiple areas of mental health counseling experience and levels of skills in the therapeutic arena.  Dr. Gordon is currently working towards state licensure as an LPC- MHSP and is supervised by Dr. Luke Queen, JD, DMin, LPC-MHSP, ACS, BC-TMH, NCC, MAC.

Dr. Gordon is married to Karen who is licensed and retired as a public educator from Metro Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.  Dr. Gordon has four grown children and five grandchildren.
